Bride furious as she spends £230 on wedding makeup but could have ‘done better herself’
A bride-to-be was left furious after parting with £230 for her make-up on her wedding day, but ended up with ‘amateur’ results she could have ‘done better’ herself
Doing everything professionally for a wedding is not a cheap task, and when you pay high prices, you expect the results to be out of this world.
But a bride-to-be on TikTok became furious after parting with $300 (£230) for her makeup and was disappointed with the results – as she claimed she did a better job herself when she did her clean make-up every day.
The woman, named Haley, shared a video in which she showed off the finished look, which had been done before her wedding day on a trial basis to ensure she was happy with the service.
And she certainly wasn’t impressed, because the professional makeup artist had apparently used the wrong shade of foundation for Haley’s face and hadn’t used any primer – meaning the makeup was crinkling around her nose and didn’t do much to hide the imperfections in her skin.

Haley, who posts under the username @stellarb0mb, wrote of the clip, “I paid $300 for this!?”
She also captioned the video: “What is the real duck?”
The viral video received over 62,000 likes and over 940,000 views, with commenters equally bewildered by the disastrous result – as many couldn’t believe the look had been professionally done.
One person said, “This is what end-of-day makeup looks like.”
While another added: “Anyone who says it’s not bad is lying to you. Wedding makeup should be flawless, especially at this price, and you can get a lot better job for your money.”
“Everyone who says it looks good has one. It’s really amateurish at best,” said a third, “most of us wear makeup better just to go to work or the grocery store .”
Other reviewers couldn’t see the problem with the look, but Haley was quick to respond that it wasn’t the flawless standard she expected to pay such a high price.
She told one person, “I wear makeup better.”
Haley then shared an update video in which she revealed that she reached out to the owner of the salon to explain the situation, and that the owner herself gave her another free trial look – which had the looks better than the original.
She said in the second clip: “Long story short, I emailed the owner saying I didn’t like anything they were doing and I wanted a senior artist and I really don’t want not that someone else is doing my makeup. .
“She said she would do another free trial for me, but this time it’s free. The owner did my makeup and my hair, and it looks flawless. I’m so happy!”
