Pilates training has obviously been the fitness trend amid the Covid-19 lockdown and Bollywood diva Preity Zinta recently returned to her trainer, Yasmin Karachiwala’s Pilates studio for a tough variation on the base plank. . Raising fitness goals even more, Preity performed a full body strengthening exercise with spade plank exercises on the Pilates reformer and his latest workout video is exactly the Monday motivation we need for get up and tone our abs.
Taking her account on social media, Preity shared a video straight from the Pilates studio that showed her sweating up on a reformer. Pulling on a gray tank top paired with a pair of black tights and a pair of black socks for an athleisure look, Preity pulled her braids back into a fluffy top knot to keep her hair out of her face during the intense workout.
Standing on a bar at the end of the Pilates Reformer, Preity started out in a high plank position on his hands, not his forearms. Keeping her feet on the bar, she brought her hands back towards the slider, sending her hips up towards the ceiling until she reached a pike position.
Performing a few repetitions of the exercise, Preity finally relaxed the posture. She simply captioned the video, “Back to Pilates with Yas (sic).”
Named after its creator, Joseph Pilates, the exercise aims to strengthen the body by emphasizing proper postural alignment, core strength, and muscle balance. Beginners can do most of the Pilates moves at home including the cent, roll-up, shoulder bridge, or crossover as they are absolutely fun to do even without the use of a reformer.
Reformers are training machines that improve core stability as well as good postural alignment in those who use them for workouts. A Pilate’s studio may seem like a war zone to you, but it does wonders for those looking for a well-toned and strong body.
After the hectic year of 2020 and most of 2021, if you are looking to fine tune your brain and nervous system, then Pilates should be your physical therapy of choice.
