In Lokstadt (former industrial area of ​​SLM), a new versatile and sustainable part of the city is being created in the center of Winterthur. In this urban context, many new elements are developing, from various residential forms, offices, coworking and hotels to gastronomy and commerce. The organizer intends to complete the Lokstadt by the end of 2025. The new district, with around 800 apartments and 25,000 m2 of retail space, will be a new residence in the center of Winterthur for around 3,000 residents. and employees.
In the last step, Implenia will develop the Rocket & Tigerli buildings on site 4b. It is a building 100 meters high and a basic building 23 meters high. A limited competition is organized for this in accordance with ordinance SIA 143.
According to the design plan, a total floor area (aGF) of 34,500 m2 can be achieved at site 4b. The basic building “Tigerli” includes
Space of 17,500 m2 (aGF) and can reach a maximum total height of 23 meters. Additional 17,000 m2 (aGF) and a total height of max. 100 m are available for the construction of the high rise building “Rocket”. The master plan allows a residential share of 100%.
In the “Rocket” apartment building, a large number of different rental apartments are planned to cater to as many target groups as possible in the greater Winterthur region. The “Tigerli” base building will contain non-profit accommodation focused on spacious, interconnecting family apartments. The “Tigerli” is also intended to serve Winterthur as a place of education with student accommodation. In addition, the hotel use of the halls in Lokstadt is to be extended to the “Tigerli” and by means of a covered industrial walkway.
