The trial between Disney and Scarlett Johansson is over. As revealed by hollywood reporter, the parties have now reached an undisclosed settlement.

You may remember that soon after Black Widow Released last July, Johansson filed a lawsuit against Disney for breach of its contract which guaranteed that the Marvel character’s solo film would come exclusively to theaters. After a slew of delays through 2020 and 2021, the film has finally arrived in theaters as well as at Disney +, ultimately grossing $ 379 million worldwide.

In their own separate press releases (via THR), Johansson and Disney Studios President Alan Bergman expressed gratitude for the settlement. “I’m happy to have resolved our differences with Disney,” said Johansson, who has played the MCU character since the 2010s. Iron man 2. “I am incredibly proud of the work we have done together over the years and have really enjoyed my creative relationship with the team. I look forward to continuing our collaboration in the years to come.”

Bergman’s statement praised the actress for her contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “I am very happy that we were able to reach a mutual agreement with Scarlett Johansson regarding Black Widow“He said.” We appreciate his contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and look forward to working together on a number of upcoming projects, including Disney’s. This latest film was announced as in development shortly before Widow published. As for other “upcoming projects”, these will likely be announced at a later date, although it remains to be seen what the partnership between the two sides will look like after the deal.

When first revealed, the lawsuit had implications for the rest of Hollywood in this uncertain pandemic landscape, date and date. Several actors, including Marvel actress Elizabeth Olsen, have supported Johansson. And it looked like other actors would follow Johansson’s lead, as Emma Stone reportedly considered legal actions regarding the simultaneous release date and date. Cruel; and Emily Blunt and John Krasinski have also reportedly considered similar options against Paramount on A Quiet Place, Part II. Black Widow is now available on Disney + Premier Access and will be free on the platform starting October 6.
