The 5 Best Apps That Help You Improve Your Posture

Maintaining good posture can help reduce pain and tension in the body, but slouching is so easy to get into. So let technology help you remember to sit (or stand) throughout the day and improve your posture with exercises.

Here, we’ll go over five apps designed to make improving your posture an easy part of your daily routine.

1. Posture Pal

The Posture Pal app uses the motion sensors in your AirPods to detect your posture and help you improve your head and neck posture. A cute animated giraffe reminds you to maintain a healthier posture if you start slouching or leaning to one side. As a result, you might learn how to stop slouching for good with this download.

Plus, phone vibrations or soft sounds in your earbuds alert you when your posture needs fixing. It can also work in the background, quietly promoting excellent posture throughout the day.

However, you will need the right equipment for this to work. Posture Pal currently supports AirPods Pro, AirPods (Gen 3), AirPods Max, and Beats Fit Pro. Also, if your headphones can detect movement and send the information to your phone, they can work too.

A premium version of the app offers more posture monitoring sessions and more customization features. You can even get more app icons to brighten up your phone.

Overall, it’s an attractive yet simple app that’s way better than someone yelling at you to “Sit up straight!” every time you slump.

2. Posture reminder

The Posture Reminder app periodically asks you to check your posture to make sure you’re not slouching distractedly throughout the day.

Every 30 minutes, the app reminds you to check your posture and sit up straight. You can adjust intervals on the Reminders screen and set a start and end time.

The Check screen offers a series of tips for maintaining good posture throughout the day, whether you are standing or sitting. There is also information about a wall test you can perform to check your standing posture from time to time.

If you work from a desk all day, this is a great app to keep running in the background to help promote your health. Along these lines, check out exercise apps to stay in shape while you’re at your desk throughout the working day.

3. Text Neck – Posture Correction

Learn how to correct forward head posture, aka “text neck”, with the Text Neck app.

Select a trainer, set goals (including posture correction), and enter your overall activity level to get started with the app. The app includes three workout program levels, so you can select the intensity level you want to start with.

Just press the Start training on the home screen for the exercise tutorials to begin immediately. The first exercise has you standing against a wall to create length in your neck, while the next encourages you to raise and lower your elbows while standing against the wall. You get clear verbal instructions for every move.

Additionally, you can check out the Custom Exercises section for instructions for each stretch alone. You can also check out the Exercise Overview section to better understand the stretches and their exact steps.

Note that the free version includes a fair amount of ads. However, you can get rid of it by purchasing the premium version.

You can also track stats and streaks appear at the top of the app, encouraging you to track progress over time.

4. Posture Correction Exercises – Perfect Posture

Posture Correction Exercises – Perfect Posture app includes over 300 stretching routines to improve flexibility and relieve muscle soreness. It’s a heavy app that will keep you busy for quite a while, and it has an entire section devoted to posture correction.

You will find several selections of videos focusing on specific areas in the Posture section. For example, there are sections dedicated to neck and back pain relief, lower back pain relief, and a healthy spine.

Each exercise in a list has a video demonstration so you know exactly how to perform them.

5. Perfect posture and healthy back

The Perfect Posture & Healthy Back app features 125 back and shoulder exercises and 30-day challenges to help you improve your posture over time. If there’s an exercise to help you stand, it’s probably on this app.

You can find beginner, intermediate and advanced workout routines to correct posture in this app. It also includes specific exercises for scoliosis and a series of plank challenges.

If you don’t want to use a preset plan, you can always create your own mix with workouts from any exercise in the app.

Detailed text describes every move in the workouts, so you get a full explanation before you start copying the moves yourself. You can also view an animation or video demonstrating the activity.

Many other categories, including quick workouts, work-friendly workouts, and more, are included. You’ll need the paid version to access all of the exercises, although the free version already offers a pretty robust selection.

Reports show how long you exercised and what activities you performed. In the settings screen, you can set up exercise reminders, receive workout tips, and adjust the duration of the rest timer.
