Toyota Innova Crysta Limited Edition launched at Rs 17.45 Lakh
The Toyota Innova Crysta Limited Edition is based on the mid-range GX version of the MPV, which explains the aggressive pricing. The Limited Edition Innova comes with a tire pressure monitoring system, wireless phone charger and head-up display installed direct from the dealership.
These dealer-installed features are usually pricey add-ons (around Rs 55,000), but are now being offered to help customers switch to petrol variants of the Innova. The new limited-edition version of the petrol-powered Innova Crysta comes just days after Toyota stopped taking reservations for diesel versions of the popular minivan due to overwhelming demand.
The main reason for the high demand for the diesel variants of the Innova Crysta is its ARAI mileage of 15.6 km/l, which has made it a very popular vehicle with taxi drivers across the country. The mileage is due to the diesel variants smaller displacement 2.4 liter engine which is also a torque behemoth producing 148PS at 3400rpm and 360Nm of peak torque at just 1400rpm.
The petrol-powered Innova Crysta, meanwhile, gets its power from a larger 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 164PS at 5,200rpm and 245Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. The gasoline engine of the Innova Crysta has an ARAi certified mileage of 10.5 km/l.
The big advantage of the petrol version of the Innova Crysta is the fact that the waiting period is much less than that of the diesel combustion model. Gas-powered Innovas have a waiting period of between 30 and 45 days, which is much less than diesel models which can stretch for months.
Toyota is also preparing for the launch of the next generation Innova in the Indian market. Scheduled to be unveiled in November, the new model is expected to arrive in India in early 2023. The new model is expected to carry the Innova HyCross name and will feature a new petrol hybrid engine as part of Toyota’s electrification push in the Indian market. .
Thoughts on the Toyota Innova Limited Edition
The Toyota Innova Limited Edition gets a few stylish accessories direct from the dealer for free. Will the new accessories be enough to entice customers to Innova gasoline is a question we won’t get answers to until later this year.
