Tributes to YouTube makeup artist Mel Thompson, who died aged 35
Fans are taking to social media to pay tribute to makeup artist and YouTuber Mel Thompson, who died aged 35.
The content creator has regularly shared beauty content with her 170,000 subscribers, her latest video having been posted just four days ago.
Sharing the news of her death with her 58,000 Instagram followers yesterday, her husband Puffin shared a photo carousel, writing “we’ve lost a beautiful person.” He did not share the cause of his death.
He wrote: âI just wanted to show off the smiles she brought. I must have answered so many texts from people watching her without even knowing she was dead. It’s great to see how much she was loved. And she loved you right away. I will continue to love her and I will miss her forever. She was such a pillar for our family.
He said his four children “would talk to her nonstop and she would talk to them constantly and try to help them with their business.”
No matter how bad her day was, her husband said she would rub his back when he lay down on the bed next to her while she worked on its contents.
He added: âEveryone knows how talented she was as an artist and with her useful knowledge, but those close to her know how truly wonderful she was. She would have done anything to help anyone without hesitation. I would like to find her. “
People took to the comments section to pay tribute to Thompson.
YouTuber James Welsh commented, âSuch sad news. All my condolences.”
Makeup artist Hindash also commented, âI’m so sorry for your loss. Heartbreaking news. “
Lisa Eldridge, who previously worked as a makeup artist for stars such as Dua Lipa, wrote: âI am deeply saddened and shocked. My thoughts are with my friends and family⦠truly heartbreaking. Rest in peace Mel, thank you for always being so wonderful.
âI am in absolute shock! Please tell me that is not true! RIP my beautiful Mel, âartist Fumi Desalu-Vold wrote with several heartbroken emojis.
Other prominent members of the YouTube makeup community paid tribute, including Wayne Goss, Nikkia Joy and Emily Noel.
Fans also took to Twitter to share their condolences, with one fan calling Thompson a “shining soul, who has only added positivity and light to this world.”
Thompson is survived by her husband Puffin and four children.
